The local market has traditionally been dominated by low-grade imports that fail within two seasons. Consequently, Ghanaian farmers are now shifting toward plastic coated chicken wire to prevent rust and reduce the risk of injury to poultry, aligning with a broader move toward modernized livestock management.
Currently, the industry in Ghana is transitioning from manual installation to prefabricated, standardized mesh rolls. The integration of polymer coatings has become a critical requirement for projects in the Ashanti and Volta regions, where heavy rainfall accelerates the degradation of traditional metallic fences.
